content strategy
Four years of experience developing multi-channel content strategy.
When I have the opportunity to take a topic or idea and develop content around it from every angle—that’s when I really thrive. Whether it’s making complex topics simple or making simple ideas play across multiple channels, I have a proven track record of organizing content in a way that meets both the goals of the business and user intent.
Know Yourself, Know Your Money, best-selling book by Rachel Cruze
Results: This book made the WSJ Best-Seller list, and we ranked on page 1 of Google’s search results for ~500 keywords for articles promoting the book.
Worked on the core content development team leading up to the writing phase
Researched and provided extensive notes on the topics of personal finance, personality traits, and psychology for the manuscript
Created content silos relating to topics within the book and implemented an SEO-focused marketing plan to generate organic rankings before the book’s release in effort to capture authority in the space
Weekly Meal Planner and Grocery Savings Guide, lead magnet created for The Rachel Cruze Show
Results: Currently ranking for 550+ keywords on page 1. Over 24k sessions to the landing page and nearly 13k email addresses were collected in the first month.
Saving money on groceries was a known pain point for Rachel’s audience, so we researched and developed this idea as a solution
I owned the strategy portion of creating this, including keyword research, brand voice, and its purpose on the customer journey—along with continual monitoring of results
I also wrote landing page copy and edited content in the actual guide
After capturing a user’s email address, they could access the guide and spent an average time of 3:52 on each page
The Best Retirement Party Games, written for Beacon Capital Management
Results: Currently ranking for 20 keywords on page 1.
I owned all aspects of creating this article, including keyword research, writing, creating graphics, publishing, and continual monitoring of results
After seeing success with this written content, we created an episode of our YouTube show, Retirement Talk, to embed within the article
Since adding the video, organic keywords have doubled and we continue to see this topic perform in bringing people into our funnel
This is just one example of many articles we’ve seen successfully rank on page 1 and is part of the strategy that—within the first year—grew:
Organic traffic by 5x
Organic keywords ranking on page 1 by 3x
Domain authority by 60%
Aldi vs. Walmart: Which Is Cheaper? Written for Rachel Cruze
Results: Currently ranking for 1,500 total keywords.
In our audience research we learned their favorite grocery store was Aldi, so I used that knowledge when hunting for keywords
I owned all aspects of creating this article, including keyword research, writing, original photography, publishing, and continual monitoring of results
We eventually used the article content to create an episode of The Rachel Cruze Show on the same topic
Retirement Talk, YouTube show for Beacon Capital Management
Results: 450+ subscribers within first five months, with 58k views (and counting).
For over 75 episodes, I’ve developed content strategy, written talking points, and produced each shoot
I also write integrated call-to-actions for each episode
We distribute these videos across multiple channels, including email, social, and we embed them in articles at BeaconCM.com
Nashville Family Photos content strategy
